Gender-Affirming Sexual Health Care

This course is a primer for supporting gender diverse clients with concerns related to their sexual health and wellbeing. Transgender, Two-Spirt and non-binary TTNB people may have sexual health care needs providers are unfamiliar with, such as changes to sexual function, desire, or sexual response cycles as a result of gender-affirming medical or surgical interventions. This course focuses on integrating key relational practices with gender-affirming care considerations relevant to sexual health.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Develop an understanding of common sexual health care needs of TTNB clients.
  2. Apply principles of gender-affirming relational practice to sexual health care interactions.
  3. Build confidence supporting clients’ sexual and relational wellness.
  4. Become familiar with resources available to support clients’ agency in their sexual and relational wellness.
